I got a place with a girl and her boyfriend a month ago. I paid my share of the first months rent directly to the landlord. At the end of the month the day before rent is due, I got into a car accident which left me not able to move for the next few days. When I came to, I contact the landlord and we made an agreement that I would pay my share a week late because of the accident. I contacted my roommates to let them know but started arguing with me about the rent being late even though I had let the landlord know the situation. The boyfriend then started claiming that I am renting from him and that I owe him money. I have my share for the rent but I want to pay directly yo the landlord. I have never signed anything that said he’s subleasing to me.

Btw I talked to the landlord about removing my name from the lease so would I sti have to pay rent for the next month even though I won’t be living there anymore?

My friends and I are considering taking our senior trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico. There are four of us, and we will share one hotel room. I’ve already got solid estimates on ticket prices as well as room prices. But I was wondering how much money we should bring as spending money.

We will be staying for six days, five nights. We do not plan on renting a car, so that won’t factor in to our spending money. Any estimates or help would be appreciated!

I am 19 years old and considering renting/moving into a house by myself. I currently live between my parents’ house and a share house, but I find it difficult to stay at either house for more than a few days as I have a tendency to argue and become violent, punching or kicking walls, etc. to avoid hurting people. I like these people; I just can’t live with them. I have tried sorting out the underlying problems, but other people are not willing to make the effort for it to work.

I have a part time job in a department store earning nearly 0 a week, I don’t mind being alone but I will still be close to friends, family, work, etc. I have been described as mature for my age, and I don’t mind what sort of house I live in or things like that, so long as it is relatively close to work.

I feel that moving into a house by myself is the only answer, but people around me say it is a bad idea without giving me a decent reason. Is it such a bad idea? What else can I do?

Hi! I am an international student renting a room in share accomodation. In the first day..before I have signed the rental contract, the landlord told me that the weekly rental price is including everything and no much to pay extra on top of it. So that I decided to take the room and signed 6 months rental contract. But..after one month renting the room, the landlord start charging me per month to buy rubbish bag, aluminium foils, bleach, broom, etc. And charged per ever six-months to clean the stove.Then.. she started charging me .30 per day for using heater in the winter since last four months ago. Non of these weekly, six-monthly and .30 daily for heater were mentoined on the rental contract nor let me know in the first before I signed the contract. Last two days ago, told me that she is going to increase per week rent from next 10 days. Is it legal to charge these unreasonable fees to me or is it legal to increse the rent from next 10 days without any early notice?
I will be moving out next month as I can’t pay these too much extra charges, but I want to take legal action to her as she is doing this to all the tenants excepts from 3 tenants from her native country. She is very racious and discriminate too. I am so angry with her =(
I am renting this room in Melbourne, VIC, Australia. Thank you =)

Renting Shares -

One of the strategies that we use ourselves is renting shares or renting stocks. The idea about renting shares is for us to generate an on going monthly income. We want to do that month after month and continue to generate and income by a way of renting out our shares. We can use either the US or Australian stock markets or almost any market around the world.

The premise behind the renting shares is similar to having a property. Every understands buying a property whether it’s a flat, a unit an apartment or a house and renting it out to a tenant. The tenant pays you a rental premium on a weekly or monthly basis. Stock chart patterns such as head and shoulders are not so important.

We can do exactly the same thing with renting shares. We buy shares, or stocks and we can rent them out on
the stock market. The beauty of it is, we don’t have worry about our tenants not paying on time. We don’t have worry about our tenants wrecking the place, we don’t have to fix a broken toilet a midnight. All those problems associated with buying with a property, we don’t have with renting shares. We don’t deal with individual people, we can rent our shares out on the stock market and for that we’ll receive a rental premium on a monthly basis.

Renting Shares Month After Month

We do this month after month. Once we rent them out at the end of the month we can make a decision on what happens from there. If the share price has gone down for instance, we can simply keep the shares and rent them out again.

If the share price has gone up, we may make the choice to sell our shares. Which means not only have we received rental premium, but profits received from the shares going up as well.

One of the best things about renting shares we can achieve. If you are renting out a property, you may be lucky to 3 to 7% per year a yield on your investment.

With renting shares, we can get the same returns per month. On the low scale we are looking at 2-3% per month. On a high scale we are looking at 10-12% on a monthly basis.

To rent shares on the US or Australian markets, you can read our ebook, join our trading diary or use our broker, which means you can copy our trades exactly as we do them onto your account without having to ring your broker.

Find out more about renting shares below:

My abusive ex left our shared rented house over six months ago and I gave him a week to pack up his things and leave, during that week I lived at a friends house with my dog and cat as I feared for not only my safety but also wanted to protect my little furry friends as he had even started to abuse my staffy dog. He was a violent and abusive partner, both vebally and mentally and I have now found out that he cheated on me at every opportunity. The local police were fantastic in terms of looking out for me when I asked him to move out as they had already been called to the house a few times. They were ready to put an AVO on him if his violent behaviour continued once he had left. Anyway, there has only been a few e-mails and texts from him (I have ignored) and a few text messages over Christmas and New Year (which I have also ignored). I have thankfully moved on, however, I was cleaning out my garage the other day and found that he had left some of his personal things in my garage, nothing that important, a couple of CD’s, shirts e.t.c. but of more sentimental value would be his photo album of when he was young. I am really not sure what to do with this. I absolutely do not want to contact this vile man ever as he scares me and his family are no better. I am worried that any contact I make will then be seen as an invitation for him to start hassling me again. Even wasting time writing this e-mail makes me angry as I really do not want to even think about him again so I really do not want to be packing the thing up and taking it to the post office to send to his work address (I don’t even know where he currently lives). Should I just throw it in the bin as he had a whole week to sort his things out….it’s also been six months already so he has not missed it? Any ideas?
I should add that I would feel bad if I did throw the photo album out as things like that can not be replaced.

Please help me! The lady who owns the house that we share in has told me to leave, she’s given me four weeks notice to find a new place, but I’ve already found somewhere. She has just told me that I still have to pay rent for the next three weeks an equivalent of 0 (Aust $) even if I’ve moved out. There was a tenancy agreement when I signed that if I chose to leave I would have to give four weeks notice or the equivalent in money, but she has asked me to leave instead.

Is there a law against this? I have been made really uncomfortable living in this house and I just want to get out as soon as I can but I can’t afford to get out and pay rent for two houses (one that I’m not living in) every time I am here I end up in tears because of the situation.

Please help.
