having a cat and renting?

I’m at uni and i’m wanting to share a house with other people next year (have not found a place yet), I just wanted to know if I would it’s possible to bring a cat, as i cannot leave my cat at home. I’m wanting to share a house with other uni students, so is everyone going to say "no, u cannot bring a cat" or do people actually accept animal??
