How does the stock market work and how do you trade/invest in it?

By Planet Wealth

I want to start trading/investing in the stock market but I do not really know the terms such as indexes, averages, etc. I also do not know how the whole stock market works. May someone summarize or provide me with a detailed website?

Thanks.

My advice is to place your money into insured Certificates of Deposit at an FDIC insured US bank. At most, limit your stock market gambling to 20% of your savings to see how it works out.

There’s lots of books out there for the beginning investor that could clarify it a whole lot better than we can here. Go to Barnes & Noble and check them out.

Remember that stocks are investments and that you will need to invest some considerable money in them in order to make them work for you. Do your homework and the best of luck to you.

    Hi
If you plot to invest money yourself, then go to the link below, which is the website of American Assosiation of Indivdual Investors. They have a excellent education section for you to learn with. It takes some time to know investing, so take it slow, and before you invest I would recomend putting your money into a high yield savings account while you learn how to invest your own money. Also make retirement a top priority.
