how does yahoo handle trades in fantasy football for thursday games?
By Planet Wealth
In our league, trades take 3 days to get approved. If I am offered a trade on a Wednesday and accept it, but one of the players that I am trading away is playing on Thursday night, can I still get that players points for this week since he will technically still be on my roster? Or will yahoo cancel the trade or maybe just not allow either party to use those points?
The reason I question is because last Wednesday I was offered a trade of Benson and Miles Austin for Zach Miller, Woodhead, and Boldin. I accepted and then the other player had the commissioner change the wait time and approve the trade so that he could play Boldin in Thursday game. He said he had to because yahoo would automatically cancel the trade if he didn’t. Is that right? My point was that if he enters a trade that gives me an advantage of using Boldins points along with the new players I buy through the trade for one week, then he can’t take that advantage away after the fact and change the rules of the trading time frame.

You aren’t going to be able to use a player on Thursday, then trade him that same week. It’s likely the trade would have been canceled, or not processed until the following Monday or Tuesday.
So in order for the trade to work, he did have to go up the deadline. Of course, that doesn’t mean he should have… if you are playing with a 3 day waiting period, then those are the rules.
