My husband hates his job and it's causing stress in our relationship?

By Planet Wealth

My husband is a tradesman and has only ever worked in his trade field.
Since we have been together (5 years) he has had about 15 jobs. If he doesn’t get along with someone or doesn’t like the work he leaves and gets another job. He has never been out of work for more than a week, so that’s not the problem.
The problem is that he despises his trade and really wants to get out of it, but because we have debts (cars, credit cards etc.) – his job pays really well – he feels trapped by his job and he is starting to get really depressed.
I feel really terrible for him because I like my job and don’t mind going each day but I have had jobs I despise so I know how it is.
Does anyone have any advice on what he can do?

I sympathize with your situation b/c many people are in your husband’s position: chained to debt and unable to explore other career options. He either has to commit to the current job or explore other options. I’ve been reading the resolved Yahoo Answers for "job stress" and I’ve found some very helpful wisdom and insight. Someone recommended the book, "Do What You Like, Money Will Follow." Even though I live in a place where career options are very limited, I nonetheless, reckon I’m going to borrow that title from the public library or read it at Border’s! Hope this helps.
