Proper waterproof coat and rain bonnet – better option when umbrellas are banned?
By Planet Wealth
At the football a couple of weeks ago, it started raining heavily and of course umbrellas are banned in most sports venues these days. The guy selling plastic ponchos with a life expectancy of about five minutes did a roaring trade, at five dollars each. But the lady sitting next to me had come prepared – she had a red nylon raincoat and she took a fold-up plastic rain bonnet out of the pocket and slipped it on. She was about 40 and quite attractive and the bonnet really looked OK on her. She said she had picked up the coat and plastic hat for a total price of at a charity shop five years ago and this was the only place she wore them, and they always kept her perfectly dry. And at least she didn’t look like she belonged to the Ku Klutz Klan.
Those rainhats don’t look anywhere near as terrible as people make out and they have to be better than some of the alternatives. What do others reckon?

wow! that is pretty smart of that lady to bring her waterproof rainwear. i reckon buying a set like that might cost you a small more than a dollar, mainly because you can find some really cute designer rainwear! but that it is a fantastic thought, i honestly despise ponchos. i am in the Reagan Band (go flutes)(look us up on youTube) and when it rains, we have to wear ponchos so our new uniforms don’t get wet. then we have the responsibility of dry cleaning the cheap ponhos! anyways, i reckon you should go off & buy the rain-gear set!

Yes but then just about anything is better than those feeble plastic ponchos, including getting wet (which you wind up doing anyway)! I also keep a plastic rain hat for just that purpose. Those ponchos are foul, and absolutely useless.

My wife has a few stashed away, for "Just In Case" purposes, and she looks fantastic in one! I reckon many women
under 50 have to get over the "Granny" factor, worried of what other people will reckon, If it works, hey, why not???
I hear women of all ages in NYC wear them
