Season 2011, extremely early predictions?
By Planet Wealth
what are our really early predictions on performers of next year, before the grand final and trade week and other things get in the way
How will the gold coast go, who is going to be playing their final season, who will improve greatly next year, what teams will improve, what teams will fall
there is no such thing as a incorrect answer at the end of the day its guess

Hey,
Geelong is going down hill, their young spike isnt in them anymore.
Collingwood are looking excellent, they have performed very well this year and will probly continue their form next year.
StKilda is a yes or No, they will either stay up top or drop.
Hawthorn is a yes if they can play the footy they did in the last couple of round of this season.
Gold Coast, i reckon they will go ok. There mix of young players and players they are taking from other clubs will go well, but with new players and a new coaching staff i dont tthink they will make the granny in their first year.
Nick Natanewi and all the new young guns from this year like the guy from melbourne and who ever won the rising star will continue their excellent form and improve even more.
Last but not least i reckon carlton are on the rise. With their new younger guys coming through i reckon they have a excellent chance!

Far too early for these type of questions, as you say we’d only be guessing.

This is not a prediction but, I want to see either North Melbourne or Melbourne crack the 8 and I’d be nice if the tigers finished higher up on the ladder

@Romper thats the fun of it
The midfielders of the sides like Collingwood Geelong St. kilda etc. Will continue to dominate
I wouldnt be riding Geelong off. I reckon they ill still be gunnin for a top 4 end
Gold Coast will start off with a win, then fall, then end their season on a high just missin out on 8
Crows will be back in top 8 contention!!!
Teams that will be the huge ones in 2011
Collingwood, GEELONG, St. Kilda, Sydney and Adelaide
Teams that will end off the 8, and other OK teams
Hawthorn, Melbourne, Richmond, Fremantle, Port Adelaide, Gold Coast, Carlton, Bulldogs, Brisbane, Essendon
Teams that are gonna not be so fantastic in 2011
North Melbourne & West Coast
Team by Team:
Adelaide
Will be back after poor 2010 form 3-7
Brisbane
Will look to do better than poor 2010 10-13
Carlton
Will fall a bit 9-12
Collingwood
Will continue to be a top team 1-4
Essendon
Can only go up with a new coach 8-12
Fremantle
I dont see em going any higher 7-11
Geelong
Why is everyone riding em off 1-5
Gold Coast
It depends who they get 8-12
Hawthorn
A team with a fantastic playing group 4-7
Melbourne
Going up with a young team 9-13
North Melbourne
Will be going down 11-16
Port Adelaide
Matty Primus will make a difference 7-11
Richmond
Will go up 9-13
St. Kilda
Will continue their fantastic form in the past two seasons 1-5
Sydney
Are on the up 4-7
West Coast
Another poor year 13-16
Western Buldogs
Will drop a bit but still be excellent 6-11

> How will Gold Coast go?
Gold Coast will go OK – I reckon they will start slowly as they all adjust to playing with their new teammates, but pick up their form in the middle of the year and end 10th-12th
I reckon probably Simon Black, Tarkyn Lockyer, Dustin Fletcher, Antoni Grover, Roger Hayden, Boomer Harvey, Chad Cornes, Michael Gardiner, Darren Glass, Barry Hall and Nathan Eagleton.
> Who will improve greatly?
Bryce Gibbs, Kurt Tippett, David Myers, Michael Hurley, Daniel Rich, Jack Watts, Hamish Hartlett, Jack Ziebell, Ben Cunnington, Chris Yarran, Dangerfield, Rhys Palmer, Chris Masten, Ty Vickery and Tom Swift will all improve after injury affected, slow progress/stagnant or going backwards this year.
Griffen, Rioli, S.Hill, T.Varcoe and Cotchin to take their games to the next level.
> What teams will improve?
I reckon the Demons and Roos will make the top 8.
Hawthorn to rejoin the top 4.
Carlton, West Coast and Richmond I reckon will climb a few places.
> What teams will fall
Geelong may drop a couple of places to 3rd or 4th.
Bulldogs may drop a couple of places to 5th or 6th.
Fremantle I reckon will drop out of the 8 to around 9th -11th – they overperformed at the start of 2010 with Barlow producing at an elite midfield output right off the bat.
Brisbane and Essendon will fight it out for the wooden spoon.

Premiers – St Kilda
Gold Coast – Will spring up a huge list of stars. Only time will tell..
Improve – North Melbourne: Fantastic list with players that are ready to cause problems in September next year.
Wooden Spoon – Essendon or Brisbane (as much as I despise to say it)
Brisbane.. turning into a nightmare.
Ill tell you why:
For the past 2 years now clubs have been warned and warned to get their lists right as GC17 and GWS were going to be taking the best kids on offer for the next few years. What do the Lions do, recruit washed up players like X.Clarke, Buchanon, Raines, and to an extent you could also include Fev, Staker and Maguire (but to me those 3 have held their own). What happens next, players we have spent far too long grooming waiting to get some reward from all walk out on us (Sherman, Brennan, Rischettelli).
Essendon: Will have to see what the new coach can do. Doubt anything special will happen. The coach is only as excellent as the players

12.North Melbourne (Not ready for finals until 2012 and beyond)
13.Richmond ( Will improve in 2011)
14.Gold Coast ( Will need a season to gel and get their young kids ready for afl footy)
15.Essendon (New Coach in 2011 but i except them still to struggle)
16.West Coast ( Need to improve every thing Worsfold will be the first coach sacked in 2011)
17.Brisbane (Looks like another poor year ahead they would hope J. Brown stays fit other wise it could be a horrible year Voss will be the second coach sacked in 2011 )

Ladder
1 Collingwood (new nearly unbeatable game plot)
2 StKilda ( hitting it’s peak)
3 Fremantle (fantastic young team)
4 Geelong (loss of ablett will cost them but still a fantastic side)
5 Hawthorn (showed lots towards the end of the season against the top 4 sides)
6 Western Bulldogs ( excellent ball movement but premiership window is closing)
7 Sydney ( should show patches of brilliance but will also show patches that will cost them)
8 Melbourne (developing young team that might crack the eight)
9 Adelaide (continue last years end of year form)
10 Carlton (will never be a major threat)
11 North Melbourne (young team that will just miss out again but will better through Drew Petrie’s return)
12 Port Adelaide (new coach will help)
13 Gold Coast (couple of superstars but plenty of debuts)
14 Richmond (young team and will be top 8 in a couple of years but they still need some more larger bodies)
