yeah it should only go for the maximum 3 days! it just takes to long and builds up suspense most of the time and majority of the players that they say are going to go to an alternative club never end up going! For example Ryan O’Keefe from the Swans it was all talks he was either going to go to the Bombers or the Hawks, Lost interest in Essendon, so it was described all over the news and in every single newspaper that he was certain to go to the Hawks and now he is either going to be resigning with Sydney or making his way off to the Blues during the Draft stage in the next couple of weeks. Same with Andy Lovett from Essendon was supposed to be going to Sydney and then was going to go to Geelong, with a direct swap for Brent Prismall and what happens Prismall goes to the Bombers and Lovett is staying where he is at Essendon.

This whole process drives me nuts it really does, every year we go through the exact same process players/management and clubs saying that they are willing to take this player and either pass on a trade pick or a player to the alternate club!

Andrew Dimetrio and Adrian Anderson, men this really needs to stop!

Make trade week 2-3 days maximum

I reckon maybe two days, so trades are made quicker. One week is too long, and as you said, nothing happens until the Friday!

I agree that it should be shorter. We should make the teams act quicker and make it seem more fascinating.

The crows have disappointed me in this year’s trade week (like most). I waited them to act for the whole week and they didn’t at all.

Like ‘Trade Day’, I don’t like that thought, because huge trades can’t be done in just one day, just imagine the judd trade and only having one day, they organise with other clubs and suss out the best deals. It’s a long week for us, but it would go quick if you were recruiting or trading players. And it’s a working week, 5 days, not 7 days, so i reckon it’s fine!

i don’t see the problem with a week its 5 days and some people didn’t get traded because there wasn’t enough time

we would all like it 2 be some sort of exciting event of 1 or 2 days
    but it cant
clubs need time 2 make offers and trades
the 1st day is spent just going round to each club and seeing what they have on offer
then the club decides who they should go for and who is trade bait 4 their own team
it takes time to make a deal
they had a whole week and ROK still couldnt get a trade
i dont mind it being a week as i reckon the clubs have to have time to look around and see whats on offer
and making a deal with another club normally isnt simple
if you get bored because there are no trades on the first few days, just dont look at afl sites/newspapers/tv/radio until thursday!
or atleast just next year dont get so excited about trade week as it normally is far from that

Nah…But they should add a trade week in the middle of the year you’d see some quick trades there. And even if you didn’t you could question teams about it during the split round.

nah probably 3 days, long enough for negotiations. as you saw the first 3 days was dull and nothing happened and evrything occurred on the last day.

    5 days is fine.
It gives the clubs some time to play hard ball and negotiate.
    Keeps people guessing, lol.

**I reckon one week is too long when as you say that the majority of the trades happen on the last day. I don’t know why they have a whole week to do it, I reckon that two or three days would be more than adequate.**

At least 2 days, we all saw how carlton and freo kept negotiating on the robbie warnock deal, and nothing happened until the last day, showing that in one or two days so much more can happen then in a whole week.
