She gave all her info and her sister in law’s so i believed she was telling me the truth well it has been a month and stil no papers, i have called her several times and she’s either not there or doesnt answer. i am very mad and dont know what to do i paid 0 for this dog and he’s not worth it w/no papers. what can i do??? plz help

i would have never bought a dog without papers. maybe you can turn it over to the dog club of the breeders and have them help you get the papaers

Tell her that she should either give you the papers or take the dog back, otherwise you will file a police report for defrauding you.

You really can’t do much. Unfortunately the transaction is done, and I am gong to guess you didn’t sign anything saying you could return the dog if you didn’t recieve the papers. Excellent lesson for next time…

if you have her name or the bill of sale contact the registry’s and turn her in have you tried to contact her at all clarify your situation to them the only other option is to go to ckc thats contintal kennel club there you can get the dog registred by taking 3 pics of the dog at the age of 6 months and having some one verify that it is a pure bred dog then once you recieve the ckc papers send a copy to aca and get aca to register your dog it will then be dual registred a copy can also be sent to apri if the dog was supposed to have been akc you can report her to akc and they will try to handle it never buy a puppy from a i promise you paper people its just not excellent buisness

email or call the AKC for information on how to proceed.

Note: Unless you plot on breeding the dog yourself, or showing him there is very small need for registration.

This happens alot unfortunately. Why is it so vital that you have papers anyway? It really is of no importance since you are not a breeder. Having your dog registered with some kennel club does not make the dog any better.

She’s not worth it without the papers? Did you buy the dog or the papers? As I said, papers mean nothing unless you wanted to show and breed the dog and show dogs are not sold at trade days.

Confucius say: don’t buy dog without papers if you don’t plot to eat it.

You shouldn’t have bought the dog from her if she couldn’t produce the papers on the spot. You can try to sue her, but she can always claim that she never promised you the papers in the first place.

Without the papers in hand, you never should have taken the dog. One of the largest scams going with puppies (The papers haven’t come in yet’ or ‘i forgot them but will send them right out to you’)

If you know where she lives…..go to her house. If you just have a name and/or phone #, google it! I would make the effort to contact her (it’s a pain yeah, because she’s probably screening due to the # of people she’s screwed out of papers & $). The visit your local State Attorney’s Office.

Fraud is a crime! If she sold you something under fake pretenses, she can face charges. The State Attorney’s Office likes fraud cases.

I’m worried you have learned a hard lesson. Never buy from a person who sells many dogs, obviously a puppy miller or a BYB. And never buy a dog with papers unless you have the papers in your hand when you leave.
CKC (Continental Kennel Club) is a scam registry that will list anything with 4 legs.

um okay! first you should have wanted to see the dogs parents if you were that concerned about what he is "worth" you should have said okay I’ll take him but I’ll pick him up from you and collect the papers when I do.

He is worth alot more than papers he is a friend a companion. if you don’t like it sell the dog to someone who will like it, and go to a proper breeder, see the parents check the back ground for temperament and physical problems.

First of all it is not honest to say that the puppy is not worth it without the papers! What is more vital to you? Puppy,Papers or Money?
I have heard tales of this kind of thing before. Most of the time the papers do arrive in time.I reckon that you are just mad at this woman because you reckon she has got away with selling you a puppy without papers. That may not be the case,it is still early days.I would have bought the puppy in the same situation if it was what I wanted.I wanted to reckon that I would get my papers eventually, but as long as I got a healthy puppy out of it all I wouldn’t mind too much.

Buying the puppy from a Canton Trade show would have been my first clue…I tell people every day Do not buy a puppy with out the litter registration. And every day people do it. Sock this up as a learning experience, because.. where you stand right now there is no way you are going to get papers for your dog. i doubt very much your dog is even a purebred. Second warning I give people if you see them sale lots of puppies Do not buy. And heaven for bid never buy at a Trade show or anything on that sort of ways. You learn a rough lesson. All I can say to you ..is to delight in your puppy because that is all you are going to have.

Call the canine control council. They want to know what she is doing. Technically it is illegal but hard to prove without a receipt or proof that she was offering papers. The canine control council like to here about these people and It is taken very seriously. If she is licensed to sell registered dogs but is selling some without papers she could lose her license

well you can report this breeder ,
to the National Canine society .
( they may not even be registered with them )
or The Kennel Club in GB
You can also contact the ( Chihuahuas) Breed Association,
and say them of this .

It is fraudulent to sell a dog ,as ‘pedigree’,
    without the necessary right papers.

It is a hard situation , as i expect you have bonded,
    with this puppy already.

Technically ,they , should take the puppy back ,
and give you a complete refund

But, i don’t suppose you want that puppy ,
to go back to these unscrupulous dealers .

you will not be able to breed from her, as a pedigree dog .
which ,if this was your plot, is a huge financial loss .

You could bring this loss, to a small claims court .
this can involve you in further expense ,
and you may not get paid ,
even, when the court goes in favore of your claim .
As the sellers may renage ,
out of the payments or disapear all together

I am so sorry, you seem ,to have been ‘ had’
    by these nasty animal sharks

I hope the small puppy is well
and will be a joy ,to keep as a companion,
    for many pleased years .

    All best wishes

You can try contacting the AKC or CKC (depending on where you live) and asking them for advice.
And as for all the people who are saying that the dog is a companion and that the asker doesn’t need papers reckon about this: Perhaps they were hoping to place the dog in AKC obedience contests or something fun like that? Can’t do that without papers.
But, I know that with the AKC that if you can show some proof that the dog is the breed you say it is, photo’s etc, they could be willing to give you what are called "blue papers" if you get your dog spayed / neutered. That way you can show her / him at certain shows like obedience or agility if that’s what you’re looking to do someday.
